Playing with Distress Inks.....

I wanted to take a try at distress ink sponging and embossing an image.  I really like how it turned out that is for sure. First step was to take my Stamping Bella image "Flower Garden" and emboss the images on watercolour paper. Then I  sponged the flowers in Fired Brick and Spun Sugar. The petals and the edges were sponged with Forest Moss and Peeled Paint. Oh I just loved how it turned out.
I stamped the "beautiful" sentiment with Stazon ink on vellum and then placed a little bit of glue to the sides of the vellum so it would stay in place in front of the image! I am going to be doing this again but putting a " mother" sentiment for Mother's Day.  This is for another class at Stamping Bella so I am hoping the ladies really enjoy this one!  Enjoy your day!
I would like to thank Paula for always inspiring me with all her works of art!

Matilda on her swing......

Oh my goodness, brace yourself, I have posted two days in a row!LOL I actually have had a little time to get into that wonderful craft room of mine and play.....I had this idea for a class to do at Stamping Bella...it was to get little Matilda a swing under a tree.....I really wanted her to actually swing back and forth. So I thought about it and placed a brad behind the tree so that the swing would move back and forth freely. I also had this Martha Stewart punch that I new alot of the ladies who take my classes have, so I thought it would maybe work to make a tree! All I can say is with lots of trial and errors it worked, oh and lots of punching of these little leaf branches.... Little Matilda gets to swing!

I sponged around my cloud template with chalk to give the appearance of clouds in the background. I also made the front of my card out of acetate so you could see right thru it to the sentiment inside. The tree trunk I embossed with a tree bark embossing folder I just recently purchased at Stamping Bella and it work perfectly. Matilda on her swing is from Stamping Bella....love her!
I hope you have a wonderful evening......I am off to visit you all that come to visit as I have not had alot of time to do so lately! Talk soon!

Welcome to May....the month when everything is in bloom again. May means that the garden centers opens, which means many trips for me picking out flowers for the front porch....I absolutely love spring!  So when I saw this adorable little stamp from Wild Rose Studio, I knew she was perfect for my May calendar page!
I coloured her with distress inks, some Tim Holtz and some Stampin Up'. Stampin Up has some really pretty inks to paint with!     I hope your May is full of sunshine and flowers a bloomin'. Have a wonderful week.

Recipe Page.....

Well, I finally have sat down for a minute to do a post! Wow! I have been busy with so many things lately....fun things, yes! I took some time this morning to make some wonderful cookies that I found on Pintrest (yes, I am addicted that is for sure). They claim to be the BEST darn chocolate chip cookies out there....so when the kids get home, they will be the judge of that....and I am taking some down to my Stamping Bella card class ladies...lets see what they think. Always a recipe card must be made....so that is what I have done!
I love the Whimsy Stamps for my recipe cards, oh heck I love them for cards too! When I was at Scrapfest I bought some wonderful 6x6 paper called, Miss Caroline....Fiddlesticks....it is a new favourite as you can see....I paper pieced her blouse, her skirt and coloured the rest with copics!
I took a picture of the finished, not eaten yet  cookies...yummy I must say!

Uptown Ava.....bookmark and gift card holder!

Happy Easter weekend everyone.....I am busy getting all my stuff ready to teach a class tomorrow. Our project is this gift card holder (card insert) and bookmarks/bookmark holder. Oh, I so love the purple shades I used. I also love the new image that was just released from Stamping Bella called
Uptown Girl Ava...she is way too cute.
I used lots of glitter too, but it does not show up all that well in the pictures.

I coloured the flower garden roses and Ava up with prismas.
Have a wonderful Easter weekend....

Well, Hello to April....

Oh my...did you ever think I would post my April Calendar page! Things have been so hectic around the Dol Household that crafting is the first to go on the back burner....I will say it does not make me to happy to be late posting this calendar. Between shuttling kids to hockey, school and to friends and all the other things going, it really is so hard to find time to do what I totally love...card making! One day the kids won't be around and I know I will miss them so I try to enjoy what I can with them.
I coloured our little LOTV image with copics, and kept things very simple. I totally love this little one!
Well, I am off to prepare a little dinner and then off for some errands! Have a wonderful week.

Friendship...

A couple of days ago, I set aside some time to get some cards done that I really needed! I truly enjoyed myself I must say. I used some embellishments that were given to me as gifts at Christmas. I truly loved my pearl pin and my lacey doilie and was so happy to finally have time to use them on my Friendship card! I have been wanting to order more flowers but unfortunately the ones that I do want are out of stock....darn!!LOL
I even finished the inside of my card. I think finishing the insides of your cards really completes them. Love doing that, so I must make a point of doing all of my cards that way! I also brought out my copics again and also finished up a few spots with the prismas. Love doing that. They really do compliment each other.
I am off to get lots done for some crafting classes I have coming up this week and then spend some time with the family today. The sun is out, but it is a little chilly! Please, mother nature bring spring along a little faster! Have a wonderful day!
